climb Mera Peak,

the highest trekking peak in Nepal

After another successful expedition in 2017, Everest One are again running a trip to one of the most alluring and achievable trekking peaks in Nepal.

Standing at 6476m, Mera Peak is the classic Himalayan trekking peak.  Never steep enough to get too scary, but at a seriously high altitude, Mera Peak is a great introductory climb for those looking to test the waters at high altitude climbing.

Our expedition starts in Kathmandu, and after a few days of sightseeing and preparation we fly to Lukla, the beginning of our mountain journey.  From Lukla we immediately head off the beaten track and away from the busy Khumbu Valley by crossing the Zatrwa La to the quiet Hinku Valley, where you will experience the colourful Buddhist culture and spirited Sherpa people.

After just over a week of trekking up the Hinku, following a carefully structured and proven acclimatization program designed to give you the best chance of success, we reach Mera Peak base camp, a wonderful scenic location for some final skills training before we head up the mountain.

After spending a night at the Mera La we set up our high camp, from where we launch our summit push in the early morning hours.

From the summit of Mera Peak you will be rewarded with stunning views of 5 of the 6 highest mountains in the world including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu and Kangchenjunga.

Prior mountaineering experience is not required, however we expect our participants to be competent in the outdoors with previous trekking and camping experience.
