On Saturday evening we had the privilage of attending the Wesley Hospital Breast Clinic fundraiser, “Chandeliers and City Lights” as keynote speakers.
The room looked sensational, and the guests were dressed to impress, savouring the fine hospitality on offer. Sharon and I thoroughly enjoyed sharing our story, and anecdotes from the incredible road we have travelled. We also had the opportunity to meet some great people, and enjoy their company over a good glass of wine.
You never know who you are going to meet at these events, and we are constantly in awe of the achievements people have accomplished in their lives. There are so many remarkable individuals, doing incredible things, which is what excites us the most about attending these functions. Listening to Jayson, (Director of the Marketing and Fundraising Office for UnitingCare Health) with his loyal Guide Dog Davey by his side, was simply awesome. We spent some time talking about his sporting career, which included water-skiing in at world championship levels, his efforts and humility were quite inspiring.
The night was a success, with all proceeds raised going towards purchasing an X-ray Specimen Cabinet for the Wesley Breast Clinic.
Thanks Juliana, Jayson, Jason, Jess, Karen, Dr Lewis, Dr Erzetich and the Wesley team, for making this such a great night. Thanks also to Frances Whiting and Rory Gibson from the Courier Mail for steering the proceedings so well.
