You will need high-altitude mountaineering gear, including high altitude mountaineering boots including 8,000-meter all-in-one boots (La Sportiva Olympus Mons, Scarpa Phantom 8,000, Millet Everest), 6-7,000-meter double boots (La Sportiva Spantik, La Sportiva G2 SM, Scarpa Phantom 6000), crampons, harness, helmet, ice axe, down suit or jacket, and layered clothing. Everest One provides a detailed gear list and assists with gear selection, advice and discounts.
Yes. A helicopter option is available from Ama Dablam Base Camp to Kathmandu, reducing the expedition by up to five days. The cost of this option ranges for USD $1000-2000 per person and is dependant on the number of passengers. Everest One can assist in this process however have no control of the prices, which fluctuate depending on the individual provider. Payment for this service is made directly to the helicopter company.
