Our Manaslu Expedition runs for approximately 42 days, including arrival in Kathmandu, acclimatisation in Samagaon, rotations from Base Camp, and the final summit push to 8,163m.

Everest One is the only Australian adventure company guiding above 8,000m. We focus on small teams, personalised 1:1 Sherpa support, and reaching the true summit of Manaslu, not the false summit where many expeditions stop.

Manaslu is considered one of the more accessible 8,000m climbs, with less technical climbing than peaks like K2 or Makalu. However, it is still a serious high-altitude expedition requiring excellent fitness, mental endurance, and prior Himalayan climbing experience.

Yes. We require participants to have completed at least one high-altitude Himalayan climb (6,000m or above) and be proficient with crampons, harness systems, fixed ropes, and glacier travel.

Our schedule includes three acclimatisation days in Samagaon, where we take hikes to higher villages and landmarks. At Base Camp (4,800m), we follow a rotation system climbing progressively higher to Camps 1–3 before launching our summit bid.

Manaslu Base Camp sits at approximately 4,800m, reached by a steep ascent from Samagaon along a glacier moraine.

Each climber has their own spacious individual tent with mattress, blankets, and carpeted floor. A heated dining tent, cafe, internet (additional cost), and dedicated commercial kitchen and cook team provide a comfortable and supportive environment.

At Base Camp, our Sherpa team organises a traditional Buddhist Puja ceremony led by local lamas from Samagaon. It is a cultural blessing asking for safe passage and success on the mountain.

Each climber is allocated 4 bottles of oxygen, used strategically during rotations, at high camps, and on the summit push.

We typically run oxygen at 3–4 litres per minute while climbing and 1 litre per minute at night in high camps to aid recovery before summit attempts.

During the expedition season, weather at Base Camp ranges from 10°C to -10°C. Higher up, conditions are far colder, with summit temperatures dropping as low as -30°C. Storms and snowfall are possible, which is why accurate weather forecasting is critical.

We use professional high-altitude meteorologists who provide daily forecasts to Base Camp, covering every altitude band. This data allows us to identify the safest and most promising summit window.

Everest One runs small teams only, usually around 6 climbers. This ensures flexibility, less time waiting in queues, and stronger bonds between team members.

We operate with a 1:1 Sherpa-to-client ratio, meaning you are paired with your own experienced high-altitude Sherpa for the entire climb.

The expedition is led by Phunuru Sherpa, one of Nepal’s most accomplished guides, with 43 expeditions above 8,000m, including 16 Everest summits and 19 Cho Oyu summits (world record). Expedition Manager Allan Cohrs of Everest One provides direct leadership and support. Phunuru and Allan work closely together throughout the expedition monitoring health and safety, planning rotations and the summit push.

The most technical section of Manaslu is between Camp 1 (5,500m) and Camp 2 (6,400m). This route passes through a steep couloir and icefall with seracs and crevasses, requiring rope work, speed, and caution.

You will need full 8,000m expedition gear, including double mountaineering boots, down suit, harness, crampons, ice axe, jumar, sleeping bags (-40°C rated), and personal medical kit. A full gear list is provided on the website.

We conduct daily health checks, including oxygen saturation monitoring. Our Sherpas are trained in high-altitude medicine, hygiene, and safety protocols. A comprehensive first aid kit and emergency evacuation plans are always in place.

The fee includes Kathmandu accommodation, helicopter flights to Samagaon, Base Camp services, meals, Sherpa support, permits, and oxygen. Exclusions include international flights, travel insurance, personal gear, and tips for Sherpa guides.

After reaching the true summit of Manaslu, we descend directly to Base Camp, trek back to Samagaon, and return to Kathmandu by helicopter, where we celebrate together before departure.
