TRAVEL
UPDATEs

Allan Cohrs, owner of Everest One, the small group adventure travel specialists

the world is open for business

So here's the story

I used to train with a champion boxer in Cairns, Ken Dalton, who won quite a few National Titles and then some.

He knew how to push me to my absolute limit, and if he could sense that I was slowing down, he would

work me harder.

He would always start the session with the same words and there has never been a better time to use them.

"So here's the story".

After the world went into lockdown we were constantly asked when we thought it would be safe to head abroad.

Until recently, that was such a tough question to answer, which made planning for the future a real challenge.

People are getting interested again and have the itch to travel, which we have seen in an influx of bookings.

 Consumer confidence is returning.

Everest One recently returned from a climb of Mera Peak and trek to EBC in Nepal in October / November 2022.

Everything felt back to normal. Hotels, restaurants, bars and shops were up and running without any restrictions.

There were no requirements to wear a mask, not even in airports or on flights, although we carried them.

Simply showing your electronic vaccination certificate was the only requirement by Customs.

With that in mind, we are now planning to fill the 2023 adventure travel calendar, giving everyone the chance to explore.

So here is a quick breakdown of the current travel situation with the countries Everest One travel to.

Travel restrictions have eased and we can now travel to certain destinations.*

Nepal

As long as you meet certain requirements, Nepal is officially open without any quarantine requirements.

As of 13th of December 2022, the requirements for overseas travellers entering Nepal include:

  • You need a visa to enter Nepal. Visas-on-arrival are available but travellers should check with the nearest Nepal Embassy for details and conditions.

  • Fully vaccinated travellers no longer need a pre-departure COVID-19 (PCR) test to enter Nepal. You'll need to present your vaccination certificate on arrival.

  • Nepal has removed COVID-19 restrictions.

Travel Insurance

Travel doesn’t always go as planned. If you’re going overseas, travel insurance is as important as a passport. Without it, you or your family could suffer financially if things go wrong. No matter who you are, where you’re going or what you’re doing, get insurance. If you can’t afford travel insurance, you can’t afford to travel.

To join any of the adventures offered by Everest One, travel insurance is compulsory.
